A free Pocket alternative that imports your Pocket export
Pocket shut down in 2025. If you exported your saves before it closed, you can bring them into Collectboard, a free place to save articles and videos to read later, and pick up where you left off.
What carries over
- Every link, with its title
- Your tags
- The date you saved each one in Pocket
Imported saves are searchable straight away, so you can find an article from any word in its title.
How to move from Pocket in three steps
- Find the export file Pocket gave you. If it came as a .zip, unzip it to get the .csv file inside.
- Create a free Collectboard account.
- Upload the .csv file on the import page. Large exports are imported in batches; you'll see a count when it's done.
Comparing other options
Collectboard isn't the only home for your Pocket saves. Our reading list on choosing a Pocket replacement gathers independent comparisons of read-later apps, so you can pick what fits how you read.
Questions
- Is Collectboard free?
- Yes. Saves are unlimited, and tags, collections and search are free. No credit card.
- Does it keep my Pocket tags?
- Yes. Tags in your export become Collectboard tags, and each save keeps the date you originally saved it in Pocket.
- What doesn't carry over?
- Archive and favorite status, and any highlights. The import brings over each link with its title, tags and save date.
- What if I import the same file twice?
- Links you've already saved aren't duplicated, so re-uploading the file is safe.
